Regular Season Round 8: Sokol Pisek - Nymburk 82-66

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Nymburk (4-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Sokol Pisek (6-2) 82-66 on Wednesday. Sokol Pisek forced 34 Nymburk turnovers. Strangely Nymburk outrebounded Sokol Pisek 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Josef Svoboda (185-2005) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Ondrej Chvala (186-2004) who added 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Sokol Pisek players scored in double figures. Guard Martin Studnicky (204-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Jakub Ourednik (180-2004) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sokol Pisek have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with USK Praha. Loser Nymburk keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Tygri Praha. Sokol Pisek will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nymburk will play against the league's leader Hradec (#1) in J.Hradec and hope to secure a win.
