Regular Season Round 7: Hamar - Selfoss 82-78

An interesting game for Hamar (5-2) which hosted in Hamar 4th placed Selfoss (4-3). Third ranked Hamar managed to get a 4-point victory 82-78. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 25-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hamar looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish point guard Jose Medina (185-1993) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws). The former international center Ragnar Nathanaelsson (220-1991) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Hamar's coach Halldor Thorsson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Spanish forward Kennedy Clement (199-2002) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (203-1984, college: UT Martin) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Selfoss. Five Selfoss players scored in double figures. Hamar have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Alftanes. Selfoss at the other side keep the fourth position with three games lost. Hamar are looking forward to face Armann (#8) in Reykjavik in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Selfoss will play on the road against Skallagrimur (#5) in Borganes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
