Regular Season Round 8: Bonn 2 - BG TVO / Jahn 93-84

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Bonn 2 (4-4) won against at home 6th ranked BG TVO / Jahn (4-4) 93-84 on Saturday. Bonn 2 forced 21 BG TVO / Jahn turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American forward Jamel McAllister (201-1991, college: WSSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Noah Voelzgen (186-2002) supported him with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists and 7 steals. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Shawn Scott (185-1996, college: SW Christian) did not help to save the game for BG TVO / Jahn. Marcel Weiss added 23 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bonn 2 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 12 other teams including defeated BG TVO / Jahn. Bonn 2 will meet Koeln DTV (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG TVO / Jahn will play against Muenster 2 (#13) and hope to secure a win.
