Regular Season Round 8: Lich Basketball - Langen 87-93

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked TV Langen (6-3) defeated on the road 10th ranked Licher Basket (3-5) 93-87 on Saturday. TV Langen made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Licher Basket outrebounded TV Langen 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by American guard Philip Jenkins (188-1990, college: Life) who scored that evening 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and point guard Henk Droste (195-2001) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. TV Langen's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) by power forward Yannik Ribbecke (197-1997) did not help to save the game for Licher Basket. Felix-Frederik Schweizer added 23 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Five TV Langen and four Licher Basket players scored in double figures. TV Langen have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 6-3 record. Licher Basket lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. TV Langen will meet at home Reutlingen (#8) in the next round. Licher Basket will play against Kronberg and hope to secure a win.
