Regular Season Round 8: IK Eos - AIK Basket 98-90

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked IK Eos (4-3) beat 11th ranked AIK Basket (2-6) in Lund 98-90 on Saturday. IK Eos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by guard Jonathan Johansson (193-2000, college: North Park) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Viktor Stepanovski (183-2002) supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 20 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by Turkish forward Cenk Sekeroglu (203-1991) did not help to save the game for AIK Basket. Ayman Hussein (-2002) added 21 points for the guests. Four IK Eos and five AIK Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. IK Eos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. AIK Basket at the other side keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with Huddinge. IK Eos will meet at home higher ranked Trelleborg (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AIK Basket will play against Norrort (#7) and hope to secure a win.
