Regular Season Round 7: Artland - Muenster 78-68

There was a surprise result in Quakenbrueck where tenth ranked Artland Dragons (4-3) defeated higher ranked Muenster (4-3) 78-68 on Sunday. Artland Dragons made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Artland Dragons outrebounded Muenster 41-24 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard William Christmas (196-1996, college: CPP) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward DeVondre Perry (196-1999, college: Albany) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Jasper Guenther (181-1999) responded with 11 points and 7 assists and the former international center Andreas Seiferth (209-1989, agency: LUMANI 10.7) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artland Dragons have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Muenster. Artland Dragons will meet at home higher ranked Science City Jena (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Muenster will play against Falcons in Nuernberg and hope to secure a win.
