Regular Season Round 9: Vysocina - Svitavy 57-87
Date: November 6, 2022
Everything went according to plan in Jihlava where leader Svitavy (8-0) outscored bottom-ranked Vysocina (0-8) 87-57 on Sunday. Svitavy dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Vysocina's 28. Svitavy forced 20 Vysocina turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Pavel Slezak (186-1984) who scored 24 points. Forward Jakub Jokl (208-1996, college: Utah) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was center Pavel Ciha (201-1992) who recorded 10 points and guard Jan Sedmik (183-1997) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Svitavy. They maintain first place with 8-0 record, which they share with GBA Lions. Vysocina lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Svitavy will meet at home Ostrava (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vysocina will play against Prostejov and hopes to get finally their first victory.
