Regular Season Round 7: Kirchheim - Paderborn 78-65

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Kirchheim Knights (3-4) beat at home higher ranked Uni Baskets (3-4) 78-65 on Sunday. Kirchheim Knights made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Uni Baskets only scored nine points from the stripe. It was a great evening for American guard Michael Flowers (185-1999, college: WSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 38 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Richard Williams Jr (178-1987, college: SDSU) helped adding 7 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. At the losing side Lars Lagerpusch (207-1998) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and American point guard Buzz Anthony (180-1998, college: RMC) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Uni Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Paderborn and Duesseldorf. Kirchheim Knights will meet higher ranked 46ers (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Uni Baskets will play against the league's leader Rasta Vechta (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
