Regular Season Round 6: Solares - Valladolid 75-87

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Valladolid (1-4) won against on the road higher ranked Solares (2-3) 87-75 on Sunday. Strangely Solares outrebounded Valladolid 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Pablo Martin (199-2001) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Alejandro de Castro (184-2003) chipped in 18 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Jose Bolivar (205-1997) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Carlos Sepulveda (178-1996) scored 11 points. Four Solares players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valladolid left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Solares keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Valladolid will meet at home higher ranked Ardoi (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Solares will play against Santurtzi and hope to secure a win.
