Regular Season Round 9: BG TVO / Jahn - Muenster 2 70-99

There was an upset when higher ranked BG TVO / Jahn (4-5) was outscored by thirteenth ranked Muenster 2 (3-6) in Lindhorst 99-70 on Saturday. Muenster 2 made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 BG TVO / Jahn turnovers. Andrej Koenig (195-1987) nailed 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and Jan Koenig (201-1993) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Shawn Scott (185-1996, college: SW Christian) came up with 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and French forward Jessy Kangaba (196-1995) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for BG TVO / Jahn in the defeat. BG TVO / Jahn's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Muenster 2 moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. BG TVO / Jahn at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with 10 other teams. Muenster 2 will meet at home higher ranked Koeln DTV (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
