Very expected game when bottom-ranked Giessen Ak. (0-9) lost on the road to second ranked Stuttgart (7-2) 91-75 on Saturday. Greek guard Vassilis Lampropoulos (196-1990) nailed 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Edward Hall accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Terry Winn III (201-1995, college: UTRGV) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Jon Ukaj (186-2005) added 14 points respectively for Giessen Ak. in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Stuttgart. They maintain second place with 7-2 record behind leader Veitshoechheim, which they share with Mannheim and Recklinghausen. Giessen Ak. lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Kronberg. Stuttgart will meet Tuebingen 2 (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Giessen Ak. will play against Licher Basket (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
