Regular Season Round 6: Tornado KM - Birzu 91-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Tornado KM's (2-4) home victory over bottom-ranked Birzu (0-5) 91-69 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Tornado KM. Birzu managed to win fourth quarter 19-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tornado KM forced 25 Birzu turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Birzu's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Emilis Baltrimavicius (203-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Jokubas Riskus (178-2005) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Five Tornado KM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Danielius Mulevicius (195-2006) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and guard Deimantas Mazuika (190-2005) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tornado KM maintains ninth position with 2-4 record. Loser Birzu still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Marijampoles. Tornado KM will meet league's second-placed VKM in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Birzu will play against Plunges (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
