Rather expected game when 10th ranked Pyrinto (3-6) lost to seventh ranked Nokia (5-5) in Tampere 72-77 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Nokia made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Perrion Callandret (188-1995, college: Idaho) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Johnathan Stove (193-1995, college: Louisiana, agency: One Motive Sports) supported him with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Stove is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by American guard Ike Smith (193-1997, college: Georgia South) did not help to save the game for Pyrinto. Guard Tomas Pihlajamaki (194-2000) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nokia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Kotka and Vilpas. Loser Pyrinto keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Nokia will meet at home league's second-placed Kobrat in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pyrinto will have a break next round.
