Regular Season Round 6: Craiova - Sibiu 97-72

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Sibiu (3-3) was outscored on the road by eighth ranked Craiova (2-3) 97-72 on Saturday. The game without a history. Craiova led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Finnish Topias Palmi (196-1994, agency: Blacktop Management) notched 25 points to lead the effort and American point guard Cortez Edwards (188-1997, college: Southern Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 14 points and 5 assists. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by Latvian Roberts Blumbergs (208-1998, college: GCU) did not help to save the game for Sibiu. American center Dallas Walton (213-1998, college: Wake Forest, agency: Players Group) added 12 points. Four Sibiu players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Craiova moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Pitesti and Voluntari. Sibiu lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Dinamo B.. Craiova will meet higher ranked Ploiesti CSM (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sibiu will have a break next round.
