Regular Season Round 8: Bilbao - Valladolid 75-70

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Bilbao (6-1) won against at home 14th ranked Valladolid (1-6) 75-70 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bilbao forced 22 Valladolid turnovers. The best player for the winners was Iker Chacon (-2004) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Inigo Betolaza (185-2000) chipped in 14 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four Bilbao players scored in double figures. Pablo Martin (199-2001) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and Juan Lambas (-2004) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bilbao keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Valladolid at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth place with six games lost. They share the position with Quart-Germans C. Bilbao will meet Santurtzi (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
