There was a minor upset when higher ranked Titans (4-4) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Duesseldorf (4-4) 90-83 on Saturday. Duesseldorf made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Duesseldorf outrebounded Titans 39-24 including 16 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by Canadian guard Ryan Richmond (183-1996, college: Bentley) who scored that evening 29 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American guard Booker Coplin (191-1997, college: Augsburg) supported him with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Even 28 points by guard Daniel Kirchner (187-1997) did not help to save the game for Titans. Naturalized American Grant Teichmann (191-1996, college: C-N) added 13 points and 4 assists for the guests. Four Titans players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Duesseldorf moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Titans. Titans lost third consecutive game. Duesseldorf will meet higher ranked Phoenix Hagen (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Titans will play against Falcons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
