Regular Season Round 11: Lich Basketball - Tuebingen 103-96

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Licher Basket (5-6) defeated at home 7th ranked Tuebingen 2 (5-6) 103-96 on Saturday. Licher Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Tuebingen 2's 28. They outrebounded Tuebingen 2 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Licher Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Johannes Lischka (203-1987, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Yannik Ribbecke (197-1997) accounted for 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Licher Basket's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Estonian Gerrit Lehe (198-2005) came up with 19 points and Louis Thieme added 18 points respectively for Tuebingen 2 in the defeat. Four Licher Basket and five Tuebingen 2 players scored in double figures. Licher Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Tuebingen 2. Licher Basket will meet league's leader Saarlouis on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tuebingen 2 will play against Kronberg (#14) and hope to secure a win.
