There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 10th ranked Karditsas (1-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Aris (4-3) 85-68 on Saturday. Aris forced 21 Karditsas turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including a 26-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard JD Notae (188-1998, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Chevez Goodwin (206-1998, college: USC) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. Aris' coach Ioannis Kastritis used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Sayeed Pridgett (196-1998, college: Montana) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Javin DeLaurier (208-1998, college: Duke) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Aris moved-up to fifth place, which they share with PAOK. Karditsas lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Aris will meet at home bottom-ranked Lavrio (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karditsas will play against PAOK and hope to win that game.
