Regular Season Round 5: TSU - Olimpi 73-87
Date: November 26, 2022
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Olimpi (#8) and TSU (#5). TSU was defeated at home 73-87 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpi. TSU was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Dru Kuxhausen (183-1998, college: N.Colorado) nailed a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Luka Kalatozishvili (198-1999) accounted for 23 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard George Tsintsadze (192-1986) came up with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international power forward Beka Bekauri (209-1991, agency: BIG) added 18 points and 15 rebounds respectively for TSU in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TSU's coach Leqso Lapanashvili rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpi (2-2) moved-up to fifth place. TSU at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Olimpi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Vera.
