Regular Season Round 11: Hagen-Haspe - Aachen 89-83
Date: November 26, 2022
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Hagen-Haspe (6-5) beat at home 14th ranked Aachen (1-10) 89-83 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hagen-Haspe forced 24 Aachen turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Ricardo Artis II (198-1993, college: Wiley) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Jalen Fouda (191-1999) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Artis II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. American forward Sasha French (211-1996, college: Azusa Pacific) came up with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and swingman Tim Schoenborn (193-1990) added 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Aachen in the defeat. Aachen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hagen-Haspe moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Aachen lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Hagen-Haspe will meet Bonn 2 (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aachen will play against Hamm (#7) and hope to win that game.
