There was no surprise when 12th ranked L'Hospitalet (2-6) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Gran Canaria 2 (5-3) 87-83 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Dominican forward Yeikson Montero (196-1996, college: EMU) who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Slovenian point guard Dan Duscak (185-2002) chipped in 13 points and 8 assists. American guard Grant Lozoya (190-1995, college: Pitt St.) produced 27 points and forward Gerard Sevillano (196-1994, agency: BIG) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. L'Hospitalet's coach Xavier Carvajal tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gran Canaria 2 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ponferrada and Navarra. Newly promoted L'Hospitalet dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Gran Canaria 2 will meet at home Mollet (#8) in the next round. L'Hospitalet will play against Godella in Valencia and hope to secure a win.
