Regular Season Round 9: Valencia - Unicaja 67-83
Date: November 27, 2022
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Valencia (4-5) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Unicaja (6-3) 83-67 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American Tyler Kalinoski (193-1992, college: Davidson) who scored 14 points. International forward Jonathan Barreiro (203-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Montenegrin center Bojan Dubljevic (205-1991, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and American-Armenian guard Chris Jones (188-1993, college: Angelo St.) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Unicaja have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Baskonia. Loser Valencia dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Murcia and Rio Breogan. Unicaja will meet at home Zaragoza (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valencia will play against Real Madrid (#3) and hope to secure a win.
