Regular Season Round 8: Galatasaray - Fenerbahce 91-97

BSL top team - Fenerbahce (8-0) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat ninth ranked Galatasaray (3-5) in Istanbul 97-91. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Galatasaray. Fenerbahce shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-1993, college: Florida, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 assists and Greek-American point guard Nick Calathes (196-1989, college: Florida) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. Fenerbahce's coach Dimitris Itoudis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bulgarian-American point guard Dee Bost (188-1989, college: MSU) responded with 25 points and 7 assists and Canadian-Jamaican guard Dylan Ennis (188-1991, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) scored 27 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Fenerbahce and four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Galatasaray at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Bahcesehir and Merkezefendi. Fenerbahce are looking forward to face Gaziantep (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Galatasaray's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Acibadem.
