Regular Season Round 8: Keravnos - ENAD 42-48

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nicosia: ENAD (#4) and Keravnos (#6). Keravnos was defeated at home 42-48 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Keravnos won third quarter 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ENAD forced 28 Keravnos turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Antonia Nikiforou (165-2002) who scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Ligia Ioannou (180-2002) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized British Chrystalla Merkouri (182-1975) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds and Anna Charalambous (170-2001) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. ENAD maintains fourth position with 2-5 record. Keravnos at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. ENAD are looking forward to face higher ranked Anorthosis (#3) in Larnaca in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Keravnos will play against Youth Stars and hopes to get finally their first victory.
