Very predictable result when third ranked Jonava (8-2) won against at home 11th ranked Gargzdu (1-9) 92-85 on Monday. Jonava looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Jonava made 7 blocks. The former international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-1995, agency: BIG) notched 19 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and American forward Jeff Garrett (201-1994, college: LSUS, agency: Players Group) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by Giedrius Staniulis (206-1991) did not help to save the game for Gargzdu. American point guard Josh Newkirk (185-1994, college: Indiana) added 19 points and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gargzdu's coach Paulius Juodis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jonava moved-up to second place, which they share with Lietkabelis. Newly promoted Gargzdu keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Jonava will meet at home league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gargzdu will play against Juventus (#6) and hope to win that game.
