Regular Season Round 6: Batumi - TSU 82-80

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Superleague took place in Batumi. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked TSU (2-4) to eighth ranked Batumi (2-3) 82-80 on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 21-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Kyle Riddley (192-1996, college: Pfeiffer, agency: Project B Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Saba Lobjanidze (197-1993) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard George Tsintsadze (192-1986) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists and the former international power forward Beka Bekauri (209-1991, agency: BIG) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Batumi moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Kutaisi. TSU at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Batumi is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Vera (#11) in Tbilisi in the next round where they are favorite. TSU will have a break next round.
