Regular Season Round 9: Belfius Mons - Oostende 80-78

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Oostende (6-2) in Jemappes on Friday night. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (4-4) 80-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Oostende. Belfius Mons-Hainaut dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Oostende's 32. They outrebounded Oostende 31-16 including 24 on the defensive glass. American point guard Charlie Moore (180-1998, college: Miami, FL) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 assists for the winners and Bosnian forward Jure Zubac (203-1995, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Breein Tyree (188-1998, college: Ole Miss) with 24 points and center Haris Bratanovic (208-2001) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Belfius Mons-Hainaut and five Oostende players scored in double figures. Belfius Mons-Hainaut moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Leuven. Defending Belgian champion Oostende still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Mechelen and ZZ Leiden. Belfius Mons-Hainaut is looking forward to face Circus Brussels (#10) on the road in the next round. Oostende will play against Antwerp Giants (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
