Regular Season Round 8: Apollon P. - Kolossos HH 85-66

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Apollon P. (3-5) crushed 7th ranked Kolossos HH (3-5) in Patras 85-66 on Saturday. Apollon P. shot 63.3 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American swingman AJ Davis (206-1995, college: UCF) who scored that evening 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Ryan Taylor (198-1995, college: Northwestern) supported him with 20 points. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by Angolan center Yanick Moreira (208-1991, college: SMU, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Kolossos HH. The former international forward Charis Giannopoulos (206-1989) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Apollon P. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Kolossos HH. Apollon P.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Patras to the arena Promitheas.
