Liga I top team - Phoenix Corona (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Cluj CSU (3-4) in Brasov 88-55. The game was mostly controlled by Phoenix Corona. Cluj CSU managed to win third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cluj CSU to just 7 points in first quarter. Phoenix Corona dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Cluj CSU's 30. Phoenix Corona forced 27 Cluj CSU turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Cluj CSU's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Armin Cane (188-1993, college: Stockton) who scored 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
