Regular Season Round 9: MuKi - HyPo 72-74

Important game to mention about took place in Helsinki. Sixth ranked HyPo (6-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 13th ranked MuKi (2-7) 74-72 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-12 MuKi's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 74-72 at the end of the game. Strangely MuKi outrebounded HyPo 51-33 including a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Pyry Hinkkanen (182-1997) stepped up and scored 29 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and guard Jimi Viita (180-2005) chipped in 5 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was center Alexander Aglassinger (198-2001) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Robin Avist (191-2000) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. HyPo moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pantterit. MuKi lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with LrNMKY and Team Pajulahti. HyPo will play against higher ranked PuHu Juniorit (#4) in Vantaa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MuKi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena Pantterit.
