Regular Season Round 10: Castello - Lleida 87-79

The most important game in the last round took place in Castellon between third ranked Lleida (7-3) and twelfth ranked Castello (4-6) on Wednesday night. Lleida was defeated by Castello in a tough game on the road 79-87. Castello made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Venezuelan forward Michael Carrera (196-1993, college: S.Carolina, agency: BIG) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Miguel Gonzalez (199-1999) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lleida. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Castello moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Almansa. Lleida at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Castello is looking forward to face higher ranked Estudiantes (#6) in Madrid in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lleida will play at home against Cantabria and is hoping to win this game.
