Regular Season Round 12: Hamar - IA 108-84
Date: December 8, 2022
There was no surprise when 6th ranked IA (5-7) was crushed on the road by third ranked Hamar (8-3) 108-84 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. IA managed to win second period 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Hamar looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by IA's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Ragnar Nathanaelsson (220-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and Spanish point guard Jose Medina (185-1993) who added 26 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Anders Adersteg (197-1995) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian Marko Jurica (194-1996) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hamar and four IA players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hamar moved-up to second place. Loser IA keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Skallagrimur. Hamar will meet Sindri (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. IA will play against Selfoss and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
