The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Telsiai as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Telsiai smashed 9th ranked Vilkaviskis at home 105-83. Telsiai shot 67.9 percent from the field. Telsiai had a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 65.2 percentage. Telsiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Vilkaviskis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Laurynas Kaveckis (190-1990) who scored 26 points (perfect from downtown making all eight shots !!!). Point guard Ignas Razutis (185-1987) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Nigerian guard Augustine Ene (193-1998, college: A&M-Commerce) produced 21 points and 5 steals and Rokas Stankevicius (202-1995, agency: BIG) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Vilkaviskis players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Vilkaviskis lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Atletas and Kretinga. Vilkaviskis will play next round against Neptunas-Akv. trying to get back on the winning streak. Telsiai will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Stekas in Vilnius.
