Regular Season Round 11: Muenster - Trier 93-107

There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Muenster (4-7) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Gladiators (4-7) 107-93 on Saturday. Gladiators made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Gladiators outrebounded Muenster 29-17 including 20 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 73.9 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Garai Zeeb (187-1997) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 4 assists. American Parker Van Dyke (191-1994, college: Utah) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. American guard Darien Jackson (192-1998, college: Tulsa) came up with 24 points and 5 assists and the former international center Andreas Seiferth (209-1989, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Muenster in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiators moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Muenster and Duesseldorf. Muenster lost fifth consecutive game. Gladiators will meet at home higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Muenster will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven and hope to secure a win.
