Everything went according to plan when first ranked Empoli (9-1) defeated on the road 11th ranked Ancona (3-7) 67-55 on Sunday. Power forward Giulia Patane (186) notched 9 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Slovenian Tina Cvijanovic (180-1998) supported her with 12 points and 4 steals. Empoli's coach Alessio Cioni used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by power forward Serena Bona (183-1989, agency: SLN) did not help to save the game for Ancona. Guard Ludovica Albanelli (170-2002) added 13 points for lost side. Empoli have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record, which they share with Udine. Ancona lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Vigarano and Bolzano AV.
