Regular Season Round 12: Neptunas - Nevezis 86-79

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Klaipeda where 8th ranked Nevezis (5-7) was defeated by ninth ranked Neptunas (5-7) 86-79 on Monday. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-1989) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and the former international forward Deividas Gailius (200-1988) who added 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Latvian guard Arturs Zagars (190-2000) with 20 points and 6 assists and Belgian Tim Lambrecht (207-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Nevezis players scored in double figures. Nevezis' coach Gediminas Petrauskas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Neptunas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Nevezis. Neptunas will meet higher ranked Jonava (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nevezis will play against Gargzdu (#11) and hope to secure a win.
