Regular Season Round 10: Saule - SKM I 84-78

Very important is a road loss of third ranked SKM I (6-3) against fourth ranked Saule (7-3) on Monday night. Visiting SKM I was defeated by Saule in a tough game in Siauliai 78-84. SKM I was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Saule made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 SKM I turnovers. Strangely SKM I outrebounded Saule 43-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Deividas Zukauskas (162-2005) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Auridas Urbonas (-2005) contributed with 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Paulius Rapolis (206-2005) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Robertas Velicko (-2005) added 20 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for SKM I. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saule moved-up to third place. SKM I at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Saule will play against league's second-placed VKM in Vilniaus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SKM I will play at home against Birzu and hopes to get back on the winning track.
