Very expected game in Sofia where 10th ranked Shumen (2-8) was defeated by fourth ranked Levski (7-3) 83-70 on Monday. Levski looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Alan Arnett (196-1994, college: GSW, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 23 points and 4 assists for the winners and American-Haitian center John Florveus (211-1990, college: Georgia, agency: BIG) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Rey Idowu (206, college: Tulsa) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Adriyan Sekulov (179-1996) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Four Shumen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Levski. They maintain fourth place with 7-3 record. Shumen lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Levski will meet league's leader Rilski in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shumen will have a break next round.
