Regular Season Round 15: Vilpas - Kobrat 103-74

The game with biggest difference of round 15 in Korisliiga was host Vilpas' (8-7) easy victory at home over 4th placed Kobrat (9-6) 103-74 on Tuesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Vilpas. Kobrat managed to win fourth quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vilpas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kobrat's 28 and made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kobrat 38-18 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vilpas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Kobrat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Quentin Goodin (193-1997, college: Xavier) who scored 23 points and 8 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward KeyShawn Feazell (206-1998, college: Creighton) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Five Vilpas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Denzel Livingston (193-1993, college: UIW) who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard KJ Jackson (188-1998, college: UMBC) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Vilpas moved-up to sixth place. Kobrat lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. Vilpas are looking forward to face higher ranked Kataja (#3) in Joensuu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kobrat will play at home against the league's second-placed Seagulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
