Very predictable result when eighth ranked Israeli Maccabi Tel-Aviv (7-6) beat on the road 17th ranked Italian Milano (3-10) 77-71 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Milano 33-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. American-Spanish point guard Lorenzo Brown (196-1990, college: NC State) stepped up and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and power forward Roman Sorkin (208-1996, college: Oregon) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Maccabi Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Billy Baron (188-1990, college: Canisius, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and French forward Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (201-1995, agency: BeoBasket) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi Tel-Aviv moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Crvena Zvezda. Milano lost ninth consecutive game. Defending Italian champion keeps the seventeenth position with ten games lost. They share it with ALBA. Maccabi Tel-Aviv will meet Virtus BO (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Milano will play against Crvena Zvezda in Beograd and hope to secure a win.
