Regular Season Round 10: Perkunas - VKKM 102-144

Leader VKKM delivered the ninth victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Perkunas (4-7) 144-102 in Kaunas. The game was mostly controlled by VKKM. Perkunas managed to win second period 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Perkunas' 62. VKKM forced 19 Perkunas turnovers and had a 44-31 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 46 assists comparing to just 24 passes made by Perkunas' players. Point guard Justas Ziubrys (183-2005) had a triple-double by scoring 52 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Kristupas Barauskas (186-2005) chipped in 30 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side Martynas Mejaras (-2005) responded with 30 points and 8 rebounds and Laurynas Vilimas (-2005) scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. Five VKKM and four Perkunas players scored in double figures. VKKM maintains first position with 9-2 record. Loser Perkunas keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
