There was a small surprise in Kastrup where tenth ranked Amager (2-11) defeated 8th ranked Vaerlose (4-9) 87-73. Amager had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Tomas Bjarkason (204-1999, college: Lewis) notched 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and forward Magnus Bjornaa (195-1996, college: Potomac St.) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Five Amager players scored in double figures. Amager's coach Lars Klussmann allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Adam Heede-Andersen (187-1996, college: St.Cloud St.) did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. Guard Karl Formann (190-1998) added 15 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Amager maintains tenth position with 2-11 record. Vaerlose lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Amager will play against higher ranked Copenhagen (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vaerlose will play against the league's second-placed Randers and will have a slim chance for a victory.
