Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Kalmar 2 (2-8) lost at home to third ranked Malbas (6-2) 78-70 on Sunday. Malbas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kalmar 2's 26. Malbas forced 27 Kalmar 2 turnovers. The winners were led by Peter Moller who scored that evening 26 points and 6 assists and Ahmed Abdi supported him with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Even a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds by guard Bryan Owuor (185-1996) did not help to save the game for Kalmar 2. Antonius Allko added 15 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Kalmar 2's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Malbas have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Malbas maintains third position with 6-2 record having eight points less than leader Umea 2. Kalmar 2 lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Malbas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kalmar 2 will play again against Malbas (#3) in Malmo and hope to secure a win.
