Regular Season Round 12: RO SAzzurra - Patti 62-68

Very expected game when 10th ranked RO SAzzurra (4-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Patti (8-4) 68-62 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Silvia Sarni (188-1987) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and guard Erika De Giovanni (163-1999) who added 17 points during the contest. Five Patti players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Caterina Perrotti (170-2001) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and North Macedonian forward Matea Nikolic (190-2002, college: Kansas) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. RO SAzzurra's coach Jonata Chimenti rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Patti moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Matelica. Newly promoted RO SAzzurra keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Trieste. Patti will meet at home Cagliari (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RO SAzzurra will play against San Salvatore (#7) and hope to secure a win.
