Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Kangaroos (4-7) beat on the road bottom-ranked Giessen Pointers (0-10) 101-90 on Friday. Kangaroos made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Giessen Pointers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian-Bosnian Marko Boksic (203-1993, agency: PEPI SPORT) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and American guard Michael Cubbage (193, college: SFC) who added 16 points during the contest. Four Kangaroos players scored in double figures. Kangaroos' coach Dennis Shirvan used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Jacob Ledoux (190-1997, college: UTPB) with 37 points (!!!), 9 assists and 4 steals and Paul Carl (190-2002) scored 11 points. Kangaroos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Giessen Pointers still closes the standings with ten games lost. Kangaroos will meet at home higher ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Giessen Pointers will play against Schwelm (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
