Important game to mention about took place in Castellon. Fourteenth ranked Castello (5-9) saved a 3-point victory at home edging higher ranked Valladolid (9-5) 80-77 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Castello made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Valladolid was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American Jalen Nesbitt (198, college: UNF, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 13 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Joan Faner (176-1990) supported him with 12 points and 5 assists. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by naturalized Dominican guard Michael Torres Cuevas (188-1994) did not help to save the game for Valladolid. Slovenian-Croatian guard Maj Kovacevic (192-1990, agency: BIG) added 17 points for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Castello moved-up to eleventh place. Valladolid at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Burgos and Alicante. Castello will play against Almansa (#14) on the road in the next round. Valladolid will play against Cantabria (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
