Regular Season Round 11: Njardvik - Keflavik 114-103

The biggest surprise took place in Njardvik where host Njardvik (8-3) beat league's leader Keflavik (8-3) 114-103 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Keflavik. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Njardvik. Keflavik managed to win second period 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Njardvik looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Dedrick Basile (178-1994, college: CSUB) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 assists. Spanish forward Nacho Martin (204-1983) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-1992, college: St.Rose, NY) produced 23 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and point guard Valur Valsson (180-1994, college: Florida Tech) added 17 points and 11 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Four Njardvik and five Keflavik players scored in double figures. Njardvik moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Keflavik. Keflavik will play next round against Tindastoll trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Njardvik will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked IR in Reykjavik.
