Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (9-2) against ninth ranked Bnei Hasharon (5-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Hapoel Tel-Aviv was crushed by Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon 110-82. Bnei Hasharon outrebounded Hapoel Tel-Aviv 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. It was a good game for American Maurice Kemp (203-1991, college: ECU) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 9 rebounds. Belgian power forward Andy Van Vliet (213-1995, college: William & Mary) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Xavier Munford (193-1992, college: URI) replied with 24 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import center Chinanu Onuaku (207-1996, college: Louisville, agency: MSG) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Four Bnei Hasharon and five Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bnei Hasharon have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with H.Haifa. Hapoel Tel-Aviv at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Bnei Hasharon will play against higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Gilboa Galil in Gan Ner and hopes to get back on the winning track.
