Regular Season Round 13: Zabiny Brno - Slovanka MB 132-49

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Zabiny Brno (10-3) outleveled at home 8th ranked Slovanka MB (3-9) 132-49 on Wednesday. Zabiny Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Slovanka MB's 34 and made 26-of-29 free shots (89.7 percent) during the game, while Slovanka MB only scored six points from the stripe. Zabiny Brno forced 23 Slovanka MB turnovers and outrebounded them 47-16 including a 33-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zabiny Brno shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Slovanka MB's players. Forward Emma Cechova (195-2004) stepped up and scored 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and swingman Michaela Vondrackova (176-1991) chipped in 26 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Five Zabiny Brno players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Lucie Svatonova (175-2003) responded with 8 points and swingman Andrea Ondrouskova (175-2001) scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zabiny Brno moved-up to second place, which they share with KP Brno. Loser Slovanka MB keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Zabiny Brno will meet Loko Trutnov (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slovanka MB will play against the league's leader USK Praha and hope to secure a win.
