There was no surprise when 7th ranked Pitesti (5-6) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Craiova (7-5) 68-62 on Thursday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But Pitesti won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Finnish Topias Palmi (196-1994, agency: Blacktop Management) fired 13 points for the winners. Serbian Milivoje Mijovic (200-1991, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian center Nikola Jevtovic (209-1989) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Trey Freeman (189-1992, college: ODU) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Pitesti's coach Milan Mitrovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Craiova moved-up to second place, which they share with Dinamo B. Loser Pitesti dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Steaua B.. Craiova will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pitesti will play against Sibiu (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
